As we gather in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I am reminded of how much I have to be grateful for—and so much of it ties back to the incredible community of educators, leaders, and learners who share a commitment to making mathematics accessible and meaningful for all students.
I am grateful for the countless individuals striving to improve their craft to better meet the needs of marginalized math learners. Your dedication inspires me daily.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the past 30+ years as a math educator with those who value and invest in the work I have to offer. What a privilege it is to partner with you on this journey.
I am grateful for the opportunity to dedicate myself fully to this work, made possible by the solid foundation of a fulfilling career in education and the stability of a well-earned retirement in Georgia.
I am grateful for my incredible partner, who wholeheartedly supports my professional success, contributing time, talent, and encouragement at every turn.
Most profoundly, I am thankful to my heavenly Father, who gave a Black girl with parents educated in segregated schools the opportunity to have such empowering and positive math experiences in the sixties. Those experiences shaped the foundation of my work today as an educational consultant, and they fuel my mission to open doors for others.
Above all, I am thankful for you—a community that not only supports me but uplifts one another as we work together to create better and more equitable mathematical experiences for every student. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support makes all the difference.
Wishing you a joyful and gratitude-filled Thanksgiving!
