School Improvement Plan Support
PLC Support

We conduct a series of workshops to assess and improve school conditions that support the development of mathematically proficient students.

Our School Improvement Training includes the following:

  • Collecting data that matters for student learning

  • Conducting effective learning walks

  • Providing teacher feedback that is specific, constructive, and empowering

  • Analyzing student work

  • Identifying research-based practices that will have the gretest impact on student learning

  • Writing effective mathematics action plans

Teacher teams are the smallest unit of change in the school. Students need highly effective faculty grade-level or course-based teams that work diligently to erase the inequity caused by traditional school and classroom structures.  Professional development of teachers that rely on one-shot workshop models is not supported by research (2009, Darling-Hammond and Richardson, p. 49).

Effective professional development is an ongoing, continuous, sustainable activity inside and outside of the school walls. Therefore, Seda Educational Consulting promotes a model of professional development that includes teacher teams meeting as a learning community a minimum of twice a week to answer the following questions:

  • What are the essential outcomes that we expect all students to learn in each unit?

  • What sequence of activities will we use to engage our students in learning these outcomes?

  • What assessments will we use to determine if students have learned?

  • How will we intervene if students do not learn or learn more quickly than expected?

The VANG Game
The VANG Game is an interactive learning game that engages students in active problem solving and critical thinking, through individual and group competition.

This highly interactive card game increases engagement and deepens understanding by helping students make connections between verbal, algebraic, numerical, and graphical representations of important math concepts.

You can purchase the VANG Game at the Store.
